Conditions of Participation

The Euro Pop Contest is divided into three phases for participants from abroad:

1. Phase "Application andCastings":

• Application of the participants  
• Selection of the candidates from the submitted audio and video applications
• Invitationofthecandidates toclosed castings 
• In the 1st Stage, the selection of competitors is only in competence of the Organizing Committee by the 10th of september at the latest.

2. Phase "Deutscher Vorentscheid"

3. Phase "International Finale in Berlin"

• Thefinal takes placeinthe form of a competition, there is also thepossibilityofmeetingthe directorand specialists with the aim of sharing experiences and contacts.
• Each selectedparticipant will receiveawrittenconfirmationand anofficialinvitationto the contest
• Eachparticipant mustperformtwo songs at the international finale: A national or a worldwide hit. IMPORTANT: A national hit is a song which is sung by an artist or was written by a composer of the country the candidat is from.
• Each participant must have a half-playback on a CD or USB stick.
• The track can not take longer than 3 min 40 sec.
• The contes tis divided in to three age categories: 10 - 13, 14- 17 and 18 - 24 years 
• Each candidat in the final has to pay the travel costs and the costs for the stay and care during the competition finals
• For participation every soloist has to pay 60€ and every ensemble 120€

Competition songs:

• To participate in the contest two different performances have to be prepared (compulsory and choice program)
• choice program: original composition or a nationalhit. A national hit is a song which is sung by an artist or was written by a composer of the country the candidat is from
• Compulsory program: World hit   
• The track can not take longer than 3 min 40 sec.

Judges:

The members of the jury are music educators andpersonalitiesfrom themusicandshow business, singers, choreographers, and "stars" of Europe an popular music.

The rating of each of the two performances is a 10-point-system, from whichthesum makes the place in the rankings.

Award winners for the international Finale:

• The most important award in the competition is the Grand Prix Berliner Perle
  In every age category:
  - Winner of the 1st place + certificate
  - Winner of the 2nd place + certificate
  - Winner of the 3d place + certificate
  - Winner of the 4th place + certificate
  - Winner of the 5th place + certificate
  - Participants

• Cash prizes
  

  Grand Prix-Winner 500,- €

  1st place 250,- €

  2nd place 200,- €

  3rd place 150,- €

• the „Gran Prix“ winner receives the possibility of recording a single,in addition, invitations to shows and TV productions will happen. Moreover, for the winners (even the German qualifying round) arises the opportunity to visit other international song contests.
• the judges can award selected participants for special features (for the best original composition, the best arrangement etc.) with the agreement of the Organizing Commitee
• All participants in the competition finals will receive souvenirs and a commemorative certificate
